After living in NYC for 18 years, I returned to Minnesota 10 years ago to continue my career as an Interior Designer and to be closer to family. I have thirty colorful years of experience working in the world of design. I joined Heather Peterson Design to lean in to one of my favorite parts of the work which is working on the details, and building relationships with builders, fabricators and makers. My free time is spent with my 6 year-old inspiring daughter.

Morning Coffee
And not just any coffee. It starts with finding the right roast, grinding my own beans and then taking the time for a pour-over coffee using my Chemex. I love the unity that each element in the process adds to the end result of the perfect cup of coffee.
Kitchenware & Dining Supply Stores
One of my favorite pastimes is cooking and entertaining. When I travel, I love to seek out shops that sell cookbooks, gadgets, tabletop hardgoods and linens.
Hard to find or local pantry items tell a great story and add something memorable to my cooking.
A good quote
Growing up, my Dad copied quotes that he had read onto paper, and then pasted them up around the house and his office. Inspirational, wisdoms and humorous mostly.
My approach to having them in front of me each day is a bit different than his, but I am still drawn to them and find comfort in peoples' words and insights.
Decembers in Long Boat Key, Florida
This relaxed vacation place has been an annual tradition for me and my family for the past 30 years. Every year I look forward to building more memories. Long lazy days are filled with walking on the beach, reading, cooking, and laughter with family and friends.
